The Cardinal Table Runner is a project in the Violet Craft Holiday Abstractions series. The Cardinal is a foundation paper pieced block that can be used in many ways. This pattern includes instructions for completion of the table runner.

Instructions assume a knowledge of foundation paper piecing. If you are new to paper piecing or just want a thorough explanation of the construction of these blocks, please visit our Tutorials page. 

Before beginning this pattern, make two copies of the PATTERN TEMPLATES at 100% to retain your original templates. Templates must be printed on 8.5” x 11” paper on a dark enough setting to retain all details. Tape a small piece of your chosen fabric in the palette below to refer back to as you piece.

Finished dimensions are 18” x 54”.

Print on standard 8 1/2" x 11" paper at 100%.
